A Cape May Tradition Since 1949

Founding

Founded in 1949 by a group of local fishermen, The Sunset Beach Sportsmen’s Club purchased a small home from the Borough of Cape May Point and moved the building to its current location in 1957 to become ‘The Clubhouse.’ At the time, it stood in the shadows of the Magnesite Plant, built to support WWII efforts.

Mission

This organization shall have for its objectives and purpose: the promotion of camaraderie among its members, to encourage their participation in all activities conducive to the organization's well-being, to protect our local environment, and to support our community by contributing to local causes and events.

Community Initiatives

Some of our most treasured traditions at The Club are hosting annual Toys for Tots drives to benefit local children and families, supporting local fire and police fundraisers, and celebrating holidays with USCG Recruits as part of Operation Homefront. We also regularly host area clean-ups to ensure our little slice of heaven stays beautiful.
